This is embarassing but I have a confession to make, truth is during "the planning phase" I've been reading the map wrong all this while, thinking that D.C and Washington is the same until my friend was like "why do you keep saying D.C is far away from NY?!" Okay, so I'm not very good with geography, sue me. I'm pretty sure half the people out there didn't know about this too.
Right?

One of my favourite city, ranking next to San Diego. Why? Keep reading and I'm sure by the end of the post you'll love this quaint little place as well. Oh! and don't make this same mistake as me, something I'd probably regret for life.
Reasons you gotta love DC:
Reasons you gotta love DC:
1. Everywhere is walking distance and it's not the kind that feels like we are sardines in a can. So yes, I had a lot of fun walking around DC. I think it's the only city that we went everywhere by foot ever since we landed. We did however used uber to get to the Reagen Airport.
2. Locals are so friendly, they will recommend you to places, they'll tell you where the good local non-ripped-off foods are. You name it, and they're ready to help.

3. Tourist, tourist, EVERYWHERE. So you don't need to be shy about being a tourist and just snap away. Pose that shameless pose you've been dying to pose, cause some other tourist would totally beat you to it already anyway.
Shameless? Please you've yet to see the best, completely UN-postable.
#tips less people on the time I went because it was still pretty cold but layer up.

5. Oh! for the love of history because DC has tons of museum with NO ENTRANCE FEES, so many that I didn't finish them. SO many and so good that you get to see a whole new perspective of things.
And the best part? No wait, I mean second best part, cause free is always the best part
They're all located at the same area.

Wait... but what if I don't like Museum?

Tidal Basin
I know, the name is a bit... BUT this place is great for instagrammers, snap chatters, vloggers who prefer to be outdoor and snap enough picture to last them a lifetime on said social apps.
Life is more than just snapping pictures and posting them on social media right? So what we did next was something that you absolutely cannot do under the hot scorching Malaysia sun 365 days a year. we had a picnic.
And i guess because when I arrived in DC it was the beginning of spring so fortunately for me, the whole place was just blooming with sakura (cherry blossoms). It was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.
Just so you know, there's more to the Tidal Basin than Obelisk. There's a whole map of it, but we didn't manage to explore the whole place :( And it was cold, beginning of spring at twilight be like 8 degree Celsius... We were not prepared for that.
Whitehouse & Pentagon

This would have made my US trip the bomb except...
#travelhacks please do yourself a favour and book that tour to visit the Pentagon and Whitehouse, FREE OF CHARGE. But there's a catch... you gotta book it few months in advance.
But hey! I still went and check it out albeit standing outside in the cold for a while, definitely would have been so so so much better if I got that tour.

Summing it all up:

This is a personal and honest advice to people who's going to the DC in groups. BOOK THAT ROOM AT XXXX under GINOSI APARTMENT. best stay ever! so amazing no one wants to leave the apartment. I am serious. I literally had to drag them out of the place.
