Grow With Ming
Hi, I’m Ming — and this space is no longer about “retiring by 28.”
That used to be the dream. To escape the 9-to-5. To do what I want, where I want, when I want. Playing games and binge watching Netflix by the beach on a Wednesday just because I can. That vision pulled me forward in my 20s.
But somewhere along the way, life taught me that chasing freedom without foundation can lead to burnout, not breakthrough. I tried. I fell. I learned — the hard way. And now, I’m building differently.
Grow With Ming is about slow, intentional growth with tools I picked up along the way.
It’s about learning to rest without guilt, to create without urgency, and to build a life that feels true — not just impressive.
This blog is where I document my experiments with self-trust, financial independence, creativity, curiosity, and all the messy parts of growing up — even after 30. Sometimes I talk about investing. Sometimes it’s planks, journaling, trying to cook butter chicken or watching Gigi grow up and learning from her, from Sean, from our relationship.
It’s not a blueprint.
It’s a breadcrumb trail.
For the past me to remember.
For the present me to stay grounded.
For the future me to smile at.
And maybe — just maybe — for you to feel a little less alone in your own journey of growth.
If you’ve ever asked yourself:
• “How do I build a life that feels like mine?”
• “Can I slow down and still succeed?”
• “Is it too late to start over?”
Then you might enjoy sticking around.
Would love to hear from you too — feel free to leave a comment on any blog post, or email me at chewshiming@gmail.com.
Let’s grow, together.
